First off — huge thanks to everyone who joined and deployed this month! We had to create a new coupon code to keep registrations rolling. 🚀
Here’s what went down in August:
- Runway UI Design Updates: We launched the first version of our revamped UI, bringing it closer to the sleek design of our public pages. Special shoutout to Peter Willert for the invaluable feedback! More is coming soon.
- Easier CLI Installation: Installing the Runway CLI just got simpler. Check out the docs to see how smooth it is now.
- Data Protection Agreement: A data protection agreement is now available to our customers. Head over to your account settings in the Runway UI to set it up.
- Deployment Improvements: If a deployment fails, it’ll be stopped immediately, catching errors quicker and saving you some headaches.
- Sign-Up Bug Squashed: We fixed a gnarly (Safari) bug in the registration process. Apologies to anyone who was affected, and thanks to everyone who reported it!
- New Registration Code: sept2024
Content Updates
- Deploy Symfony 7.x to Runway: We’ve added an example on how to run apps based on Symfony 7.x. Subtle changes required, but it’s straightforward. Check the new docs to learn more.
- Opinion: Platform as a Service: We share our take on PaaS and the role of DevOps culture.
- Opinion: How to Containerize: We dive into why containerization is beneficial and how to do it effectively in this new blog post.
What’s Next?
The usual, of course: bug fixes, improvements, etc. but most notably:
- Multi-Player-Mode Coming Soon! Share your apps with colleagues or friends, hack together, and deploy as a team!
- DBaaS (Database as a Service): Our PostgreSQL-based DBaaS will hit general availability in October, complete with backups, rollbacks, and all the good stuff.
